Station X is a 13-episode, 100% canadian, original series which first aired on Teletoon at Night in 2005. Station X chronicles the lives of a group of young teenagers who share a loft in the vibrant Mile End neighborhood of Montreal.

Having lived in the area at the time, I drew upon my personal experiences to shape and stage the show, infusing it with the authentic essence of this renowned district. Every location featured in the series reflects my daily route to work, offering viewers a glimpse into the sights and sounds that colored my own journey.

Collaborating closely with the art director Carole Roy, we aimed to capture the unique atmosphere of this area, ensuring that each scene resonated with the neighborhood’s distinctive charm and character. From its eclectic street art to its bustling cafes and quirky boutiques, Station X serves as a love letter to the Mile End, celebrating its diversity, creativity, and sense of community.

The skill, thought and care put into the visuals, the series’ exceptionallly strong writing by Steve Westren and the careful curating of clips for each episode/situation made this series a solid gem.

Receiving letters from young adults, even years after the show aired, is incredibly humbling and heartwarming. Knowing that Station X resonated with viewers and helped them navigate the challenges of their teenage years is immensely gratifying. As a creator, there’s no greater reward than knowing that your work has made a positive impact on others’ lives.
