Bébéatrice represents an epic six-year journey from 2018 through 2023, featuring a collection of 637 sketches, each varying in length from 25 seconds to a whole 90 seconds in duration. An exhilarating evolution from the original work found in the book #Bébéatrice, penned by the talented Béatrice Lepage and Eric Godin. The television series showcases the adventurous life of Bébéatrice and her family, a four-member clan completed by the ever-loyal canine, ”ATTAK”.

What began as a relatively simple concept, blossomed into a vibrant world, teeming with an array of characters orbiting around Bébéatrice, our endearing protagonist.

Over my six years of directing Bébéatrice, I embraced the opportunity and challenge of navigating diverse narrative styles, from slapstick comedy to heartfelt humor and even musical interludes.

Each episode presented a fresh canvas upon which to explore and experiment, pushing the boundaries of my directorial versatility. The inclusion of musical pieces added an extra layer of complexity and creativity to the process. Guiding the rhythm and flow of musical sequences required a balance of visual storytelling and auditory harmony which I throroughly enjoyed.

From the initial spark of inspiration to the final frames of the sixth season, I had the distinct honor of shepherding each character through a transformative narrative arc with a very small but very talented team entirely based in Quebec.

Bébéatrice became a holiday staple for Francophone families, airing during the Christmas season’s prime time (Sunday at 19h) for six years running. Each 22-minute episode is also re-packaged into 5-minute episodes and currently streams online at tou.tv .

Bébéatrice earned numerous nominations for its memorable characters and engaging storytelling. Bébéatrice has also been dubbed into english as Babyatrice and currently streams on crave.ca .
