Embarking on my directorial journey in 2000, Kaput & Zösky stands as a pivotal moment in my career. To bring Lewis Trondheim’s comic book pages to the television screen, I needed to pour years of animation expertise into crafting the required 78 episodes (x7 minutes) of comedic chaos.
Co-produced by Futurikon and Tooncan, this production tested every facet of my skill set, from design to storytelling, to facets I had not yet had a chance to develop such as the understanding of crew management and the intricacies of international co-production that saw Canada, France, Vietnam, China, and Ile de la Réunion collaborating seamlessly.
Amidst the many challenges, a tight-knit crew emerged, delivering a refreshingly original series and forging lasting friendships that endure to this day.
